Zuma to open China-funded auto plant in Coega
President Jacob Zuma will on Thursday launch the automotive works assembly plant and operations in the Coega industrial development zone at the Nelson Mandela Bay metro in Port Elizabeth.

This ground-breaking project is part of the government`s interventions in manufacturing as an important pillar of the economy and will help further attract foreign investor confidence in South Africa.


Farmers fight fire, FAW furnishes feed
Following veld fires which tore through approximately 34 000 hectares of the Free State`s farming community FAW delivered livestock to the Free State Agriculture and Harrismith Disaster Fund.

Mike Johnson, Dealer Development Manager at FAW Vehicle Manufacturers SA, says, `There are more FAW owners, per capita, in the Harrismith area than in any other municipal district.`


A first for FAW at the start of 2015
Just six months after FAW opened its Coega plant to assemble trucks locally, the first five export units have been dispatched to the FAW dealership in Kenya.

On 16 January, the five FAW J5P truck tractor units headed off to TransAfrica Motors based in Mombasa, Kenya.
